Policy actions

Seamless gives you the ability to modify your policy during its period as well as throughout the policy lifecycle, also known as the renewal chain. To execute this action, appropriate permissions are required, and the necessary feature must be enabled.

What You’ll Learn:

MTA policy

Before you begin, you need permission “MTA policy” to do this.

  1. Access to a policy

  2. Click on the Adjust button

    1. If there is an outstanding adjustment quote for the policy, a banner will appear at the top to notify you. You can click on the adjustment quote link will redirect you to the Adjustment Quote screen.

  3. Seamless will create and navigate you to an adjustment quote

    1. If the policy has an outstanding adjustment quote, you will need to confirm whether you want to override it with a newly created one.

  1. You can start updating the adjustment quote. Please notice that you cannot change the policy start date and end date, only the effective date can be updated

    1. /003 in the quote reference represents the number of policy adjustments.

  1. At the Review step, you can see the new premiums and the delta on the Premium section

  1. When you are satisfied with all the changes in QAs and premiums, click "Accept" to proceed with purchasing the quote. Depends on the policy's payment mode (whether it is an upfront payment or a collect payment later), and the quote will be processed accordingly.

  1. After the adjustment quote is successfully purchased, you will be able to view the most recent changes on the policy details and timeline.

The following sections reflect the changes:

  1. Policy Info: The recent effective date, policy premium, and annual premium.

  2. Policy timeline: A new version will be added to the timeline.

  3. Premium: the recent policy premium and annual premium.

  4. Payment schedule: the recent payment plan. Seamless will assess the new policy premium, the current installment schedule, and the status to determine if there will be a new installment or an update to the existing installments.

  5. Documents: the recent policy documents

Endorse policy

Before you begin, you need permission Endorse policy to do this.

  1. Open a Policy

  2. In Policy Detail page, click on Endorse

  3. Endorse Policy dialog will open as below

    In Endorse Policy dialog, select Add cover

  4. List of available covers will be displayed

  5. Select Endorsement Start Date, Endorsement End Date
    (Note: Today <= Endorsement Start Date < Endorsement End Date <= Policy End Date)

  6. System will calculated the premium for each cover base on the period from Endorsement Start Date to Endorsement End Date

  7. Tick on a cover that you want to add to policy

  8. Click on Endorse

  9. System will generate the installment for additional premium

  10. When the installment is paid, newly added cover will be reflected in Cover Breakdown

Before you begin, you need permission Endorse policy to do this.

  1. Open a Policy

  2. In Policy Detail page, click on Endorse

  3. Endorse Policy dialog will open as below

  4. In Endorse Policy dialog, select Remove cover

  5. List of removable covers will be displayed

  6. Select Endorsement Start Date
    (Note: Today <= Endorsement Start Date < Policy End Date)

  7. System will calculated the premium for each cover base on the period from Endorsement Start Date to Policy End Date

  8. If auto pricing is not support, you need to input the Refund Amount

  9. Tick on a cover that you want to remove from policy

  10. Click on Endorse

  11. System will generate the installment for refund amount

  12. Period of removed cover will be shorten and reflected in Cover Breakdown

Terminate policy

  1. Access to a policy

  2. Click the Terminate button

  1. Choose the effective (date) from

    1. To cancel (terminate entirely) the policy, the effective from date should be the policy start date

  2. Choose the reason to terminate the policy

  3. Click the Recalculate button to re-calculate the new premium when terminating

  1. If your tenant has been configured to send termination emails, you can tick or untick the field labeled Send termination email for this policy?

    1. When ticking on the checkbox, you can select the email template for the policy termination email

  2. Click the Terminate button

  3. The policy will be terminated, and the termination email will be sent if configured

    1. If the termination date has already passed or is today, the policy will be terminated immediately, and its status will be updated to "Terminated."

    2. If you choose a termination date in the future, the policy will be set to terminate on that specific future date, and its status will be updated to "Pending Termination."

In case your tenant has set up the cooling-off periods. When terminating a policy, the termination fee can be applied as a default

  1. When the termination effective date is in the range from Policy Start Date +1 to Policy Start Date + cooling-off period days, then the termination fee will default as 0

  2. When the termination effective date is out of the range from Policy Start Date +1 to Policy Start Date + cooling-off period days, then the termination fee will default as the predefined value in the Product version

You can update the termination fee manually before terminating the policy. The New Premium will be the prorated premium + termination fee
