Global settings on Products

This page shows you how to use the Product Settings tab in Seamless. It’s where you manage global rules and settings that apply to every product in your tenant, no need to configure each product one by one.

This gives you access to open and update global product configurations.

1. Adjust Quote and Renewal behavior

Quote Validity (Days)

The number of days that quotes are valid from the created date.

  • After the quote validity period, if quotes are not purchased, they are set to state “Expired”.

Expired Quote Discard Period (Days)

The number of days that the expired quotes will be discarded automatically by the system.

Automatic Renewal Period (Days) must be >= than Automatic Renewal Purchase Period (Days).

Number of days before policy expiry when Seamless creates the renewal quote.

Automatic Renewal Purchase Period (Days)

Number of days before expiry when Seamless auto-purchases the renewal quote.

End Date Handling Scheme

Options: Annual, Renewal Date Alignment, Monthly and Annual Previous Month End

  • Annual: the quote period will be default as annual365

  • Renewal Date Alignment: the policy’s end date will be defaulted as 1 day before Renewal Date Alignment. See How to align Renewal Start Date? for the details

  • Monthly: the quote period will be default as 1 month

  • Annual Previous Month End: TBD

2. Turn On or Off automatic policy emails

Check box, if ticked, the policy emails are automatically sent out after a policy is purchased.

3. Set who receives Quote and Policy emails

Quote Email Recipient

 

Choose one option

  • Seller’s Email: emails are sent to the user who creates the quotes/policies.

  • Customer’s Email: the recipient is the customer to whom the quotes/policies belong.

Policy Email Recipient

Same options, applies to policy emails.

4. Cooling-off period

Define the cooling-off period.

  • If the termination effective date falls between one day after the Policy Start Date and Policy Start Date + Cooling-Off Period, Seamless will calculate the terminated premium as: Prorated premium + Termination Fee

Example:

  • Policy: 01/01 – 31/12

  • Cooling-off period = 15 days

  • Termination on 13/01 → No termination fee

  • Termination on 17/01 → Fee = $100 (as per the predefined fee)

5. Set sales discount permissions

Sales discount levels configuration:

  • Sales Discount Level 1

  • Sales Discount Level 2

  • Sales Discount Level 3

Each level links to a matching permission. The higher the level, the bigger the allowed discount

For example:

  • If a user has permission for Level 2 and the configuration for level 2 is set to 30%, the user can apply discounts up to 30% during quote acceptance.

6. Configure templates for Quote & Policy documents

This applies across your tenant (not per product).

7. Select a template for SOA documents

Select a template used to generate the Statement of Advice (SOA).

8. Related entity configuration

You need to tick on the option Use Quote Related Entity to enable the related entity in a quote

  1. Relationship: One quote can map with multiple entities with the same relationship, or different relationships (1)

  2. Type: In each relationship, you need to define the name and the type of it. Currently, Seamless only supports the type Intermediary and Beneficiary (2)

  3. Related entities: In each relationship, you can define multiple related entities

    1. Name: For each related entities, you can set up its name so Seamless can know to map (3)

      1. For instance, you have 4 entities in your tenant: Internal Introducer, External Introducer, Contemi broker, Contemi introducer

      2. The relationship between Internal Introducer, External Introducer and the quote module will be Intermediary

    2. Commissions: You can also set up the default new business sales commission, and renewal sales commission of the entity (4)

    3. Minimum - Maximum: You can define the minimum and maximum records for per entity in a quote (5)

      1. For instance, when you set min: 0 and max: 2 then the user can select from 0 to 2 internal introducer in a quote

After finishing, click on the SAVE button to apply the configuration .

9. Shared lookup

The shared lookup data can be used in any product in your tenant. Examples are TaxRates, PostCodeToCountyMapping, City, etc.

Shared Lookup

Central list of values (like tax rates, cities) that can be used in all products. See Creating Product | CreatingProduct Lookup tab

️ Note: Once you override a shared lookup, it cannot be undone. Always back up before making changes.
