Global settings on Products
1. Introduction
Product Settings - Product Settings tab allows you to manage global settings on products in your tenant. It includes settings on the following items:
Quote validity & discard
Automatic renewal
Policy automatic emails
Quote/policy email recipient
End date handling scheme
Sales discount levels
Policy summary
Policy termination
Quote summary
a. Before you begin
In order to access product settings, users should have “Manage product settings” permission and go to the cogwheel on the right side, and choose the menu “Product settings”, then select the tab PRODUCT SETTINGS.
2. Product Settings
a. Quote validity & discard
Field | Description |
---|---|
Quote Validity (Days) | The number of days that quotes are valid from the created date.

Expired Quote Discard Period (Days) | The number of days that the expired quotes will be discarded automatically by the system. |
b. Automatic renewal
Automatic Renewal Period (Days) must be greater than Automatic Renewal Purchase Period (Days).
Field | Description |

Automatic Renewal Period (Days) | This setting defines the number of days before policy expiry, renewal quote will be automatically created by the system. |
Automatic Renewal Purchase Period (Days) | This setting defines the number of days before policy expiry, renewal quote will be automatically purchased by the system. |
c. Policy automatic emails
Field | Description |

Policy Automatic Emails | Check box, if ticked, the policy emails are automatically sent out after a policy is purchased. |
d. Quote/policy email recipient

e. End date handling scheme

End Date Handling Scheme | Four possible answers, “Annual”, “Renewal Date Alignment”, “Monthly” and “Annual Previous Month End”

f. Cooling-off period (days)
Field | Description |

Cooling Off Period (Days) | Define the cooling-off period
=> When termination effective date is 13/01, termination fee will be 0 => When termination effective date older than 16/01, termination fee will be 100 USD |
2. Sales discount levels
Field | Description |

Sales discount levels configuration:
| These are tied to Sales Discount permissions each of which is for a level. For example: A user has “Sales discount level 2” permission, and the configured value for “level 2” is “30” as in the screenshot above. This user can only input a discount percentage up to 30% during quote acceptance. |
3. Policy summary
Field | Description |

Policy Summary Document Template Policy Summary Email Template | It uses the selected document/ email template to generate policy summary documents/ emails. This configurable applies at the tenant level |
4. Policy termination
Field | Description |
---|---|
Policy Termination Email Template | It uses the selected email template to generate a termination email. This configurable applies at the tenant level When clicking on this, the dropdown list of available email templates will be shown to select the default termination email template. |
5. Quote summary configuration
Field | Description |

Quote Summary Document Template Quote Summary Email Template | It uses the selected document/ email template to generate quote summary documents/ emails. This is at the system level, not the product level. |
6. SOA Document configuration
Field | Description |

SOA Document Template | It uses the selected document template to generate SOA document. This is at the system level, not the product level. |
7. Quote related entity configuration
You need to tick on the option Use Quote Related Entity to enable the related entity in a quote https://contemi.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SHC/pages/edit-v2/1870725128#4.-Related-entity
By clicking on the button, you can configure the quote’s related entity. For now, you can define the relationships of entities in the quote module. You can view more about the entity module in Entities
One quote can map with multiple entities with the same relationship, or different relationships (1)
In each relationship, you need to define the name and the type of it. Currently, Seamless only supports the type “Intermediary” (2)

For each related entities, you can set up its name so Seamless can know to map (3)
For instance, you have 4 entities in your tenant: Internal Introducer, External Introducer, Contemi broker, Contemi introducer
The relationship between Internal Introducer, External Introducer and the quote module will be Intermediary
You can also set up the default new business sales commission, and renewal sales commission of the entity (4)
You can define the minimum and maximum records for per entity in a quote (5)
For instance, when you set min: 0 and max: 2 then the user can select from 0 to 2 internal introducer in a quote
After finishing, click on the SAVE button to apply the configuration .
8. Shared lookup
Field | Description |
---|---|
Shared Lookup | The shared lookup data can be used in any product in your tenant. Examples are TaxRates, PostCodeToCountyMapping, City, etc. See Lookup tab Please notice that the shared lookup cannot be UNDONE after override. Please always create a backup file before updating. |
